Tomorrow, Sunday, April 7, we will have Tea & Game Design at Owl and Raven! A random assortment of local game designers (aspiring, amateur, novice, and professional), players, and fans will get together to talk about the design, play, and publishing of games. It’s an open event that typically has between 4 and 20 attendees, so join us to become between 5% and 25% of our population!
We will make tea, hang out with people we like, and talk game design from 1:00 to 5:00. Come join in!
Starting July 22nd, Owl and Raven will be hosting a 6-session game design workshop, run by designers/publishers Emily Boss and Epidiah Ravachol.
The workshop will focus on designing tabletop roleplaying and board games. No previous design experience is necessary to join the workshop.
During the workshop, you will:
- “Playstorm”, or take a nascent game idea and try out and test ways to make it fun,
- Workshop game techniques by trying out a game or parts of it that have been already designed, or
- Workshop game texts by reading what’s been written or made for a game and give feedback or try it out!
Each session will focus on one or two games, with small group discussion at each meeting. The workshop will meet on Sundays from 1-4 on the following dates:
Jul. 22 and 29
Aug. 5 and 26
Sept. 9 and16
The cost for the entire series is $35-50, on a sliding scale.
If you’re interested in joining this class, or have any questions, contact us by email or phone (413)-341-6494.
Hope to see you here!
